Whoa. My recent Xanga entries are not up to par. I need to be a bit more discreet. Don’t I know that anyone can read this ish?
Tru tru. Now who am I kidding, I am as far from a gangster as they get, but if only you knew about my junior high days…the term “uncharacteristic” sums it up quite well though.
Well, I have been thinking about what exactly qualifies as a superlative xanga entry. I know that I have read some here and there (I will not mention any virtual aliases).
One type of a good xanga entry makes others feel good. I will make one of those today.
Time: Friday Morning
My condition: Crazy hair, groggy face
Situation: Teeth freshly brushed, contacts just on face, **DOORBELL RINGS**
I peep out the peephole and I see an Uncle*. First thought to cross my mind is, “Damn, those temple folks are out early to recruit.” I open the door to the cheerful uncle who happens to be someone I met 2 weeks ago at a classical Indian dance recital. He was sitting to my right at the dinner table, and just happens to be one of my father’s college buddies from A&I. He explains that he is on his second day at work and says that he thought that it was me, my dad’s daughter, who he had a special delivery for. Today was his second day at work, and guess what he had for me?
The most gorgeous bouquet of red roses arranged with frills of sorts in a huge vase!!!
Thanks to The Boyfriend, who secretly ordered them for me from Dallas to show me how mush he misses me. I’ve never felt so lovey-dovey special. Thanks Rupesh. Your act means more to me than I will ever be able to express in words. But I thought that this was a start. No? Well, xanga friends, this is enough for now. If any of you want to see the pictures let me know. I want to upload them, but I’m not sure how. If you can help me please do so, and unfortunately I know that I cannot upload the fragrant smell…but let me tell you this much…I beam every time I pass by them. Thanks again.
*Uncle (customary Indian lingo) means an Indian Man around the age of my father but not old enough to be my grandfather. |
